Digital forensics you can stand behind.

Whatever happened on phones, computers, cloud accounts or the open web, we reconstruct it in a way that holds up: preserved to forensic standards, analysed reproducibly and explained in plain language – for law firms, companies, public authorities and private clients in Austria and across Europe.

Traces that last.

Digital devices forget very little. What matters is securing the evidence before it changes – and analysing it so that every step can be checked.

01

Mobile forensics

iOS and Android phones and tablets: messages, calls, photos, location data and app content – including deleted data, as long as it still exists on the device.

02

Computers & storage media

Hard drives, SSDs, USB sticks, memory cards and servers: forensic imaging and analysis of files, browsing history, log-ins and system artefacts.

03

Cloud, email & accounts

Mailboxes, cloud storage, messenger and social media accounts: tracing log-ins, forwarding rules and data leaks – with the account holder’s authorisation.

04

OSINT investigations

Open-source intelligence: who is really behind a profile, a domain or a company? We connect publicly available traces into a picture that stands up to scrutiny.

05

Image & video forensics

Checking photos and videos for authenticity, origin and signs of editing – including deepfakes, cloned voices and AI-generated content.

06

Fraud & online scams

Romance scams, investment fraud, fake shops, identity theft: we follow the conversations and the money, and prepare everything so the police and your lawyers can act on it.

When people call us.

  • An employee took customer data with them before leaving
  • Securing WhatsApp, Signal or Telegram chats as evidence for court
  • Suspected stalkerware or surveillance on your own phone
  • Online fraud: identifying the people, accounts and infrastructure behind it
  • Expert reports on seized or confiscated devices
  • Recovering deleted files, photos or messages
  • Exposing fake profiles, extortion or online defamation
  • Reconstructing a data leak after a cyberattack

How we work.

From your first message to the final report – transparent, with clear milestones along the way.

  1. Confidential first callYou tell us what happened; we tell you honestly what’s technically and legally possible. NDA up front if you like.
  2. Forensic preservationDevices and data are secured unaltered, sealed with hash values and fully documented.
  3. AnalysisUsing established forensic tools and our own software – every step reproducible.
  4. Report or expert opinionWritten for courts, lawyers, insurers and management alike – facts kept separate from interpretation.
  5. Follow-throughIf needed, we walk your lawyers, the authorities or the court through our findings and help with the next steps.

Preserved, documented, traceable.

You end up with a report that sets out what was examined, what we found and how we reached each finding – so every statement can be checked later by a court, a law firm or a second expert.

Built on real investigations.

Skillful is backed by more than ten years of experience in international police units fighting cybercrime.

So we know not only how to find data, but what evidence has to withstand. We also appear regularly on ORF, Austria’s national broadcaster, explaining how online fraud works and how people can protect themselves.

Questions we hear a lot.

Can I have someone else’s phone analysed?

Only if you’re entitled to: your own device, a company device within the limits of employment and data-protection law, or on behalf of a court, public authority or law firm. We check this before every engagement – and turn the job down if it doesn’t fit.

Can deleted messages and photos be recovered?

Often, at least in part. How much depends on the device, the operating system, encryption and how long ago the data was deleted. After an initial assessment we’ll tell you honestly what’s realistic – before you commit to an analysis.

Will your findings stand up in court?

We preserve and document evidence to recognised forensic standards: unaltered copies, hash values and an unbroken chain of custody, so every step can be verified. How a court weighs the evidence is up to the court – we make sure the foundations are solid.

How quickly can you start?

We reply to every enquiry within 24 hours. If data is at risk – say a device has to be handed back or messages are set to disappear – we can secure devices at short notice.

What happens to my data?

Confidentiality is a given: an NDA on request, encrypted storage, access only for the people working on your case, and deletion once the case is closed, as agreed.

How much does a forensic analysis cost?

It depends on the number and type of devices and on the question you need answered. After the first call you’ll get a quote with a clearly defined scope.
